StemWave® for Knee Pain

Non-invasive StemWave therapy to support tissue healing, circulation, and pain reduction.

Knee pain is a common issue that can affect walking, stairs, squatting, running, and daily activity. Symptoms may develop gradually due to repetitive strain, sports activity, work demands, or changes in training load. Knee discomfort can involve tendons, muscles, joint irritation, or surrounding soft tissues.

At Valley Physical Medicine, we evaluate knee pain using a conservative, function-focused approach. Treatment recommendations are individualized and may include lower-extremity focused chiropractic care, rehabilitation strategies, movement retraining, and adjunctive options when clinically appropriate.

StemWave for Knee Pain

For select cases of knee pain, StemWave therapy may be considered as an adjunctive option. StemWave is a non-invasive acoustic wave technology used to support healing and pain reduction for select musculoskeletal conditions.

Some patients choose StemWave when symptoms are persistent, when pain limits work or training, or when they want to support tendon recovery alongside conservative care. Individual outcomes vary and recommendations are based on clinical presentation and response.

StemWave may be considered for certain knee presentations such as:

  • Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee)
  • Quadriceps tendon irritation (in select cases)
  • Overuse-related knee pain affecting activity
  • Medial or lateral soft tissue irritation around the knee
  • Chronic tendon or soft tissue pain that has not fully responded to rest or rehab

What to Expect

A typical StemWave visit includes:

  • Review of symptoms, activity limitations, and contributing movement patterns
  • Targeted application to the involved tendon or soft tissue structures
  • A conservative care plan based on response over time
  • Home recommendations and activity modifications to support recovery

Visits are typically brief and performed in-office. Many patients return to normal activity the same day, though mild post-treatment soreness may occur.

Recommended Next Step

Knee pain can come from multiple sources, including tendon irritation, joint mechanics, training load, muscle imbalance, and movement compensation. We recommend a focused evaluation to confirm the involved tissues and determine whether StemWave is appropriate for your case.
