Neck Pain Care
Medically integrated, conservative care focused on restoring comfort, mobility, and function.
Neck pain can affect daily life through stiffness, reduced range of motion, headaches, and discomfort with work, driving, sleep, and exercise. It may begin suddenly after an awkward movement or develop gradually due to posture, repetitive strain, or previous injury.
At Valley Physical Medicine, we evaluate neck pain with a conservative, function-focused approach. Treatment recommendations are individualized and may include chiropractic care, supportive therapies, rehabilitation strategies, and adjunctive options when clinically appropriate.
Common Causes of Neck Pain
Neck pain may be associated with conditions such as:
- Mechanical neck pain and movement restriction
- Muscle strain or overuse injury
- Posture-related tension and stiffness
- Cervicogenic headache patterns
- Joint irritation and reduced mobility
- Whiplash-associated disorders (MVA-related)
- Radiating symptoms into the shoulder or arm (select cases)
When to Get Evaluated
You should consider an evaluation if you have:
- Pain lasting more than 1–2 weeks
- Stiffness that limits turning the head
- Headaches linked with neck tension
- Pain that disrupts sleep
- Symptoms after a fall or motor vehicle accident
- Radiating pain, numbness, or weakness (when present)
What to Expect at Your Visit
Your visit includes a focused history and physical evaluation to assess mobility restrictions, muscle involvement, and contributing mechanical factors. When clinically indicated, in-office digital X-rays may be utilized to support evaluation. Advanced diagnostic imaging such as MRI or CT may be ordered when appropriate to clarify findings and guide care planning.
Conservative Treatment Options
Care plans are individualized and may include:
- Chiropractic care focused on spinal mechanics as appropriate
- Soft tissue techniques and mobility-focused care
- Supportive in-office therapies when appropriate
- Rehabilitation and exercise strategies to improve strength and posture
- Home recommendations to support recovery and reduce recurrence
